A Foundation for Spirit and Stone: How the Fund Helps Religious Organizations
One of the areas of work of the Charity Foundation “Revival of Sviatohirya” is supporting religious organizations as centres of spiritual life. Over the years, the Foundation has helped Orthodox monasteries not only to endure the hardest years of the war, but also to preserve what took centuries to create — churches, buildings and holy sites that are architectural monuments and part of the nation’s cultural heritage. Because of the fighting, the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra, which since 2014 has been a shelter for hundreds of refugees from Donbass, lost its connection to the power grid. So that the lights would not go out and the boiler house would not stop in the buildings that house the elderly, families with children and people with disabilities, the Foundation purchased a powerful diesel generator under its “Light and Heat” programme. It continues to support the heating season, buying coal, new boilers and spare parts for them, so that warmth remains in the homes of displaced people even in winter, when shelling can be heard nearby. At the monastery, which found itself at the epicentre of the fighting, not a single building escaped damage. To keep rain and snow from finishing what the shelling began, the roofs of the churches and outbuildings must be repaired first of all. The Foundation buys building materials for this — timber, rebar, tiles and plumbing — so that the monastery’s craftsmen can restore roof after roof, building after building. Every repaired roof is a monument saved from ruin for future generations to see. Old buildings are especially vulnerable to fire, and in wartime that risk grows many times over. That is why fire safety is a separate area of assistance. The Foundation purchased fire extinguishers and paid for their maintenance, as well as fire hydrant columns, pressure hoses and connecting fittings. This equipment can save both human lives and priceless holy sites should the worst happen. Helping religious organizations also means caring for the people who live under their roof. For the Christmas season, the Foundation bought professional lighting equipment for the monastery, thanks to which refugee children were able to stage a holiday performance, and their parents could keep quality photographs and video of that warm day as a keepsake. The Foundation’s help is not limited to a single monastery. For a convent in the village of Adamivka, it purchased building materials and water-supply equipment — from foundation blocks and pipes to pumps, a pressure tank and a voltage stabiliser. Each of these communities is an island of faith and hope for the people who remain in front-line villages. By supporting religious organizations, the “Revival of Sviatohirya” Foundation preserves not merely buildings, but living centres of faith, culture and history — places where, in the darkest of times, hundreds of people come seeking light. The “Revival of Svyatohirya” Foundation helped 5‑year‑old Sergey Rusyanovsky
Recently, 5‑year‑old Sergey Rusyanovsky underwent another MRI of the brain with angiography and contrast enhancement performed under sedation. The boy had suffered a stroke In May of the previous year, and since then he has been fighting for his health. From time to time, Sergey needs to undergo expensive examinations to adjust his treatment. His mother, Alena, is raising her son on her own, and the only relatives she has are her retired parents. The funds she manages to earn from her household are not enough to cover all the expenses. The latest MRI became possible thanks to caring benefactors who responded to the appeal of the “Revival of Svyatohirya” Foundation to help the Rusyanovsky family. In a video sent by Alena, she thanks everyone who helped pay for this crucial examination. “I express my heartfelt gratitude to the ‘Revival of Syatohirya’ Charitable Foundation and to everyone who helped us pay for the MRI,” says Alena. “This is already our fourth MRI and sixth anesthesia. I’m raising my son on my own, and it’s very hard for me to cope with everything. But thanks to people like you, I understand that I am not alone — I’m with the Lord, with you… May all of you never need funds specifically for examinations or treatment, may there be peace throughout the world, and may each of you be well, everyone be happy, live in good health, in peace and grace!” You can support further implementation of the Fund’s "Help" program here: https://svyat.fund/help#PaymentCase

Nothing matters more than standing by those in need: a mission in the front-line zone
Volunteers from the Revival of Svyatohirya Charitable Foundation distributed kits of incontinence supplies to elderly women living alone and disabled persons who had all lost their homes due to the war and found shelter at a temporary accommodation center in Svyatohirsk. The situation in Svyatohirsk has once again become critically tense, and every day is a test of endurance for its residents. In these extremely difficult conditions, amid the sounds of shelling, are elderly refugees. Most of them are bedridden and fully dependent on outside help, which makes incontinence products and other personal   hygiene supplies a critical daily necessity for them. The Revival of Svyatohirya Foundation team continues its mission and, despite the dangers, ensures that their charges have everything they need for personal care. Each signed record in our reports is not just a piece of paper — it is a real person’s story, someone who can now breathe a little easier. For the elderly, these kits represent the highest expression of warmth and care, a sign that they have not been forgotten in this difficult time. It is important to understand that they require more than 2,000 diapers and special care products each month. Of course, they are unable to purchase these items for themselves. Your support today is these people’s only hope for tranquility and decent living conditions. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who helps us provide the elderly with personal care products, as your kindness gives them the strength to hold on and maintain their human dignity, even as the front draws near. Each donation helps us carry on with this vital mission and lets people know they’re not alone in their struggles. Let’s help provide a dignified old age for those who need it most! Together, we can do more.

Svyatogorsk Lavra received building materials from the foundation
There is not one building on the territory of the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra that has not suffered damage as a result of hostilities, the epicenter of which in 2022 was the monastery. Now the Lavra's workers are restoring the roofs of churches and outbuildings that require priority repairs, so that precipitation and other factors do not lead to even greater damage of the buildings. Recently, the monastery administration appealed to the Revival of Svyatohirya Charity Foundation with a request to purchase 10 cubic meters of edged boards for the Lavra. The Foundation purchased this important building material for the monastery. The supplier was Rayselkommunkhoz (Krasnograd, Kharkiv region). On April 9, 10 cubic meters of edged boards with a total value of 87,500 hryvnias were delivered to the Lavra. The purchase of building materials necessary for the restoration of the Lavra complex is part of the "Restoration" project, which is being implemented within the framework of the "Aid" program of the Foundation. This program's objectives are: support of institutions, аgencies and organizations providing assistance to refugees, persons with disabilities, financially disadvantaged and other vulnerable segments of the population; restoration and repair of buildings damaged as a result of hostilities; providing material assistance to refugees living in the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra, as well as to the population of the city of Svyatohirsk and the villages of the Svyatohirsk United Territorial Community; support of religious organizations as spiritual centers for the fulfillment of their statutory goals. The Foundation has purchased a powerful diesel generator for the Sviatohirsk Lavra
The Charity Foundation “Revival of Sviatohirya” has begun to implement the “Light and Heat” program. The goal of this program is to provide electricity and heat to the living quarters of refugees and those who have suffered as a result of military operations. Since 2014 the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra has given shelter to the refugees of Donbass. Currently, aside from monastics, the monastery is home to more than 200 refugees, the majority of whom as the elderly, invalids, as well as families with children. In May of 2022, as a result of military operations the Lavra was cut off from the power grid. Since that time the monastery has relied solely on diesel generators for power. Recently the administration of the Lavra turned to the “Revival of Svyatohirya” Foundation with a request to acquire a powerful diesel generator system, since practically all the generators with which the monastery had been previously supplied have reached the end of their service life. Consequently, the monastery has experienced constant interruptions in the electrical power supply, which leads to shutdowns of the boiler system and other problems. In response to the request, the Foundation purchased a new 120 kW diesel generator system at a cost of over 726,000 hrivnias, supplied by the research and development company “Energy Plus”. On March 12 the generator, weighing 1.7 tons, was delivered from Kiev to the Sviatohirsk Lavra. This life-essential equipment was greeted in the monastery with joy. It was tested immediately after being unloaded. The generator operates according to its technical specifications and delivers electricity in the amount necessary for the monastery. The administration of the Lavra expressed its gratitude to the Foundation and to all those who took part in this God-pleasing endeavor. The problem of providing the Sviatohirsk Lavra with light and heat until delivery of power from the grid can be reestablished has been resolved, which is particularly important now, while the heating season is not over.
