Lyubov Oleksiyivna Prokusheva is 80 years old. She has spent almost most of her life in Horlivka and, if not for the war, would never have left it.
But things turned out differently. Twice — in 2014 and in 2022 — the elderly woman found herself at the very epicenter of hostilities: under fire, in a basement, hungry and cold, with almost no support from loved ones.
The ordeals she endured took their toll: Lyubov Alekseevna began to rapidly develop diabetes mellitus and to lose her eyesight.
Today she lives at an accommodation facility for displaced people in the city of Svyatohirsk.
In 2017 in addition to type 2 diabetes, doctors diagnosed her with coronary heart disease, atherosclerotic cardiosclerosis, diabetic retinopathy, complicated cataract of both eyes, and glaucoma.
In 2024, ophthalmic surgeons performed the necessary eye surgery on Lyubov Oleksiyivna.
Her illnesses continue unabated.
To keep the treatment going, the elderly woman needs medicines and regular examinations. A lonely elderly woman, she has no money of her own for this.
We ask you not to remain indifferent. Every contribution is a step toward letting Lyubov Alekseevna continue to see the world and the faces of those who care for her.
