Every year, approximately five children undergoing treatment in the Department of Pediatric Surgical Oncology and Chemotherapy at the Kiev Clinical Oncological Center require endoprosthetic replacement. These are children with malignant bone tumors. An endoprosthesis replaces the bone destroyed by the tumor. Without a timely implant, the child faces limb amputation or a fatal outcome of the disease.
The endoprosthesis is custom‑made — every millimeter must match precisely. As a result, not only is the child’s life saved, but also the functionality of the leg, which even retains its original appearance.
The cost of a single endoprosthesis is 1,226,969 hryvnias. It takes 8–12 weeks to manufacture it in Germany.

To start manufacturing the implant for Yegor, the foundation’s volunteers have agreed with the endoprosthesis manufacturer to pay half the required amount upfront and then pay 150,000 hryvnias every two weeks. More than 450,000 hryvnias still need to be raised. This is an extremely large sum that the boy’s family, of course, does not have.
