Let’s help Sergey with treatment
32-year-old Sergey Romanenko has been suffering from diseases of the digestive system since his youth.
In 2015, he was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis (A3) of unspecified etiology with a transition to cirrhosis (F3). According to the results of diagnostic tests, fibrotic liver damage was 58%. Now the liver is already affected by more than 80%. Sergey is in line for a liver transplant.
Also among Sergey's diseases is splenomegaly, an enlargement of the spleen caused by cirrhosis of the liver. In recent years, he has often been forced to undergo examinations and treatment in hospitals.
Now Sergey's condition has worsened. Due to splenomegaly, the level of platelets in his blood, which are responsible for blood clotting, has dropped dramatically. This increases the risk of bleeding, and therefore serious complications after a potential liver transplant.
For this reason, on October 29, 2024 Sergey is scheduled to undergo surgery on the splenic artery at the Shalimov National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology in Kyiv.
The Charitable Foundation "Revival of Svyatohirya" announces a fundraiser for this operation. We ask those who care to respond and to help Sergey.
