Lyubov Viktorovna Gura was born in 1959 in the village of Torskoe, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region. At the age of 31, she began to feel weakness in her arms and right leg, and to have problems with her speech. She was diagnosed with cervical syringomyelia (formation of cavities in the bone marrow) with right-sided moderately pronounced hemiparesis and paresis of the left arm, bulbar palsy and pyramidal insufficiency.
In connection with this disease, Lyubov Viktorovna became eligible for disability group II for life.
From year to year, her condition gradually worsened. In 2009, she was diagnosed with disintegration of the head of the right humerus, partial dislocation of the shoulder and other changes in the musculoskeletal system caused by syringomyelia. After 15 years, and following disarticulation of the right shoulder joint, bone loss was about 5 cm.
In the summer of 2023, due to the approach of the front to her village, the 64-year-old single woman moved to a refugee accommodation center in Svyatohirsk.
In addition to her main affliction, Lyubov Viktorovna also suffers from coronary heart disease, atherosclerotic cardiosclerosis, hypertension, chronic cholecystitis, chronic pancreatitis, and retinal angiopathy.
In December 2020, she fell ill with bilateral pneumonia (COVID-19) in a severe form. As a result, patches of pneumosclerosis formed in her lungs.
In 2021 Lyubov Viktorovna was diagnosed with type II diabetes. In addition, she often suffers from urinary tract infections and acute illnesses of the upper respiratory tract: for example, in April 2024 and March 2025, she was hospitalized with acute tracheobronchitis.
Lyubov Viktorovna needs regular intake of a large number of medications, but she does not have the funds to purchase them.
