72-year-old Olga Vladimirovna Lukashova lived in Lisichansk (Lugansk Province), but since February of 2022 she has been staying at the Svyatogorsk Lavra. Her home is situated in territory not under the control of Ukraine.

Olga Vladimirovna has been afflicted with type 1 diabetes for more than 12 years. In addition, she suffers from many other ailments that affect the heart, thyroid, gall bladder and liver: coronary heart disease (atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease), second-stage hypertensive heart disease, cardiac distress stage 2A, first-stage nontoxic nodular goiter, chronic calculous cholecystitis, gallstones, fatty hepatosis, as well as circulatory encephalopathy, diabetic distal polyneuropathy, diabetic angiopathy of the lower extremities, chronic tonsillitis, obesity.

With so many medical conditions, Olga Vladimirovna is in need of regularly-administered medications, some of which are expensive. At present, test strips needed for measuring blood sugar levels several times a week are also costly.
