About 20 elderly women and disabled persons are temporarily residing in the Svyatogorsk Lavra. These are lonely senior citizens who have lost their homes and need special care. A number of them are paralyzed.
Among the essential items they consistently require are incontinence products: adult diapers, absorbent pads and incontinence briefs.
Unfortunately, these products are quite expensive. For example, a pack of 30 diapers costs between 500 and 1,350 hryvnias (depending on size and absorbency). Each month, the people under the Lavra’s care require over 2,000 diapers.
In total, this amounts to a considerable sum that the monastery simply cannot cover on its own.
Naturally, the elderly women themselves do not have such funds either. They depend entirely on help from caring donors.
In light of this, the Revival of Svyatohirya Foundation is calling for donations to support these elderly women who are in need of assistance.
